It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Louise Grande, née Dutton, who peacefully left this world on April 2, 2026, at the age of 86. Mary Lou, as she was affectionately known, was born on January 8, 1940, in Framingham, Massachusetts, to loving parents Loren Courtland Dutton and Alice Irene Gallagher. She was a beacon of warmth, strength, and kindness, traits that endeared her to all who knew her.
In 1959, Mary Lou married the love of her life, Orlando John "Ollie" Grande, in a beautiful ceremony in Malden, Massachusetts. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter in Lexington, where they nurtured their three children—Louis Orlando "Ollie" Grande, Sharon L. Goodwin, and the late Paul V. Grande. Mary Lou's devotion to her family was unparalleled, as she created an environment that was both nurturing and joyous, a testament to her deep love and commitment.
Mary Lou dedicated many years to her career at Honeywell Bull, where she worked in Human Resources. Her colleagues remember her for her professionalism, integrity, and her ability to bring out the best in others. She was a valued member of her workplace, respected for her wisdom and compassion.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Mary Lou relished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a supportive sports mom for hockey, football, baseball and figure skating. She adored family vacations, especially those spent at Newfound Lake, where she and her family created countless memories. Her laughter and spirit were infectious, and her legacy of love continues to ripple through the lives she touched.
Mary Lou is survived by her devoted children, Ollie Grande, Sharon Goodwin with her husband Robert; her dear sister, Karen Dutton; and her cherished grandchildren: Lauren Goodwin and her husband Joshua Kirby, Daniel Goodwin and his wife Lisa, and John Goodwin and his wife Mikeala. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved extended family members: Robert Goodwin Jr. and his wife Saraphine, Heather Johnson, Holly Goodwin, and the late Paul Goodwin and his wife Melissa Phelps. Mary Lou was also the proud great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews and grand-nieces / grand-nephews.
Mary Lou was predeceased by her parents, Loren and Alice Dutton, her beloved husband, Orlando Grande, and her dear son, Paul Grande. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit endures in the hearts of her family and friends.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Mary Lou's life and legacy. The family appreciates the love and support from all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Mary Lou's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital @ 1-(800)-805-5056 or stjude.org
As we say goodbye to our dear Mary Lou, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, resilience, and grace. She leaves behind beautiful memories and a family who will forever cherish her in their hearts.
