Peter Sponholtz

Peter Wayne Sponholtz, 74, of Windham, NH, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2025. He was born on December 8, 1951, in Lowell, MA, to the late Karl and Frances (Evans) Sponholtz.

Peter was a handyman to his core, having prided himself in his various projects and ability to fix anything put in front of him. He could always be found in his yard, which he treasured and enjoyed maintaining and upgrading over the years. Peter enjoyed his time outdoors, enjoyed many camping trips over the years, primarily at Mohawk Trail, and canoeing on the Saco River. He also loved visiting the beach with his loved ones.

Peter was truly a humble family-man, having always been present in his daughters’ lives, and fostering a family environment for his entire blended family. He was a cherished husband, father, dog-dad, and “Grandpa Pete,” and will be dearly missed by his beloved family.

In addition to his wife, Rosemarie Galipeau, Peter is survived by his daughters, Laura Sponholtz and her partner Kyle Kirland, April Sponholtz and her dog Axel; step-children, Lucas Marmelo, Joey Marmelo, and Cathy Ryan; siblings, Diana Vengren, Roxanne Savinelli, Deborah Murray and her husband Charles, Leanne Visnaskas; sister-in-law, Linda Sponholtz; granddaughter, Madelyn Marmelo; many nieces and nephews;  in addition to many members of his extended family.

In addition to his parents, Peter is predeceased by his brothers, Karl Sponholtz and his wife June, Leo Sponholtz, and Michael Sponholtz.
